According to the results of pre-trial investigations in a number of criminal proceedings, prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office notified 18 individuals of suspicion, including 12 officials of executive authorities and local governments, as well as officials of municipal enterprises.

The total amount of damages caused in the mentioned criminal proceedings (under Part 5 of Article 190, Part 4, 5 of Article 191, Part 4 of Article 246, Part 1, 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 364-1, Part 3 of Article 365, Part 1 of Article 366, Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is UAH 51 million.

In particular, law enforcement officers established facts of embezzlement of budget funds, abuse of official position, forgery of official documents, and other offenses.

Thus, the heads of two district administrations unjustifiably approved project and estimate documentation, which artificially inflated the cost of materials for repair works after the missile strike on Lviv. As a result, the contractor illegally appropriated funds from the local budget totaling over UAH 1.7 million.

An entrepreneur responsible for technical oversight improperly performed his official duties at a construction site in a children's medical facility in Lviv region. Taking advantage of his negligence, the director of the contracting company entered fictitious data on the volume of works during procurement during the war, which allowed him to embezzle almost UAH 1 million of budget funds.

Officials of a municipal enterprise concluded a contract with a contractor to carry out emergency and restoration works on the water supply system in Sambir. The defendants, abusing their official position, seized over UAH 1 million during the procurement of works and services.

The director of a private company supplied coal to the Rava-Ruska hospital, the quality of which did not meet the terms of the contract. In this way, he misappropriated almost UAH 1.7 million of budget funds.

An official of the social security authority of the Stryi Regional State Administration together with an entrepreneur misappropriated over UAH 2.1 million. The funds were written off as compensation under fictitious "Municipal Nanny" contracts.

An official of the capital construction department of the Lviv Regional State/Military Administration improperly carried out technical oversight over the reconstruction works of an educational institution. Due to his negligence, the state budget suffered losses of over UAH 600,000.

Four officials of a state forestry enterprise illegally issued logging permits and organized the logging of over 9,000 trees. Damage to the environment amounted to over UAH 42 million.

The state inspector of the Yavoriv customs post allowed goods worth UAH 2.3 million into Ukraine without customs clearance. As a result, the state received about UAH 750,000 less in taxes and customs payments.

The deputy head of one of the village councils in the Lviv region was exposed for abusing his power, resulting in losses of over 300 thousand hryvnias to the local community. Under martial law, the official embezzled funds during the purchase of anti-drone rifles.

Currently, motions for preventive measures are being prepared and measures to compensate the damages caused are being taken.

The pre-trial investigation, under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in the city of Lviv, as well as investigators of the investigative departments and the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region. Operational support is provided by the Security Service of Ukraine Department in the Lviv region, the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in the city of Lviv, and the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv region of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
