Prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office are conducting procedural leadership in a criminal proceeding against two men for the fact of the rape of a minor, committed by a group of individuals (Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The incident occurred on the night of September 11 to 12 in the Shepetivka district. The men, having previously conspired, took advantage of the helpless state of the minor girl and brutally raped her.

They were detained on September 12.

After the notification of suspicion, the prosecutor's office submitted a motion to the court for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.

The head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, who is the senior member of the group of prosecutors in this criminal proceeding, proved the validity of the submitted motion in court. As a result of the court hearing, the suspects were ordered to be held in custody without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Khmelnytskyi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
