Abuse with losses of over UAH 7 million - reported suspicion by five officials of a medical institution in Obukhov district

Under the procedural guidance of the Obukhiv District Prosecutor's Office, a former director of one of the medical institutions in the Obukhiv district and four of her accomplices – a former medical director, a medical director, a head of department, and a chief accountant – have been notified of suspicion for abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspects organized a scheme for the illegal receipt of budget funds allocated by the National Health Service of Ukraine by entering false information into the electronic health care system about the medical services provided to the population.

The former director of the institution entered into contracts with the NHSU for medical services to the population. Her accomplices, according to the contract, entered false information into the electronic health care system about the full provision of medical services that were, in fact, not provided.

According to the conclusions of the forensic economic examination, such actions by the officials led to the unjustified allocation of funds to the medical institution exceeding 7 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Obukhiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast with operational support from the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv Oblast.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
