The investigation has established that during February-March 2018, the suspect held the position of the first deputy of the Bilocherkivskyi District State Administration and, abusing his power and official position, issued an illegal order and subsequently concluded a purchase and sale agreement for a land plot of 0.35 hectares with a production and economic firm at a reduced price.

Such actions by the official caused damage to the state represented by the Kyiv Regional State Administration amounting to 1,037,900 UAH.

Currently, the suspect is a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council and the deputy mayor of Bilocherkivskyi.

Prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have informed the official of the suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – abuse of power or official position, that is, intentional use by an official of their power or official position contrary to the interests of service for the purpose of obtaining any unlawful benefit for themselves or another individual or legal entity, which caused severe consequences.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Bilocherkivskyi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police with operational support from the Bilocherkivskyi District Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.  

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
