The head of the communal enterprise and the director of the private company have been exposed for abuses during the renovation of the burial sector for defenders of Ukraine at the Zaturynskyi cemetery in Poltava region.

According to the investigation, during the development of the project documentation, the head of the communal enterprise did not analyze and approved inflated prices for construction materials. As a result, the contracting company unjustifiably received over 4 million UAH of budget funds.  

The head of the communal enterprise has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office resulting in serious consequences). The director of the company has been notified under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (seizure of someone else's property by abusing official position, committed on a particularly large scale, in conditions of martial law).

Under the procedural guidance of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings are being carried out by investigators and employees of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Poltava region.  

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
