Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the head of a structural unit of the state enterprise "Ukrgeofizika" has been notified of suspicions of abuse of office, which caused severe consequences for state interests (Part 1 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, during 2021–2022, the official illegally leased state warehouse premises in the Nadvirna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

He entered into contracts for the storage of property without conducting mandatory auctions and without approval from the State Property Fund. As a result of these actions, the state budget suffered losses of over 6.1 million UAH.

The suspect has been served with a motion for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of bail equal to the damage caused to the state.

Currently, the issue of imposing a lien on the official's property and filing a lawsuit by the Regional Office of the State Property Fund for compensation of damages is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Lviv region and the Investigative Department of the National Police in the Lviv region. Operational support is provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region. 

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
