The Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office ensured the actual enforcement of the sentence against a resident of Bukovina, convicted for anti-state activities (Part 2 of Article 109, Parts 2 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The man openly called for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order, the overthrow of state power, and the destruction of Ukrainian statehood. In his publications on social media and on banned Russian resources in Ukraine, he justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, supported the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and glorified the military of the aggressor country.

After being exposed, the propagandist hid from law enforcement agencies. The court of first instance sentenced him in absentia to 8 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of all his property.

In May of this year, the man was exposed and detained in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Understanding the real prospect of ending up behind bars, the convicted individual attempted to appeal the verdict of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Chernivtsi.

The Chernivtsi Court of Appeals rejected the defendant's complaint and fully agreed with the prosecutor's arguments: the verdict of the court of first instance is lawful, and the punishment is fair.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
