According to the investigation, in 2014, an official from one of the kindergartens in Makiyivka remained in the city, which was captured by armed formations controlled by the Russian Federation. Continuing her professional career at the illegally established institution by the occupiers – the "kindergarten of general development of the Makiyivka urban district" under Russian legislation, she implements federal educational standards into the educational process, approves curricula and general educational programs.
Moreover, with her assistance during classes, entertainment, and everyday life, educators introduce the children to Russian history and traditions.
In December 2025, the woman came to the territory controlled by Ukraine to reissue her foreign passport for a vacation abroad. She also planned to apply for a Ukrainian pension. Law enforcement detained her in Kyiv.
Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the official has been notified of suspicion of collaborationist activities (part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of bail has been chosen for her.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
