13.08.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the town of Mykhailivka has been exposed and detained for collaborating with the enemy since the beginning of the occupation of the Vasylivka district and for taking a position in an illegal law enforcement agency.
In the spring of 2022, the man voluntarily took the position of "patrol officer" in the so-called "Police Department No. 3 (located in the town of Mykhailivka) of the Internal Affairs Department for the city of Vasylivka and the Vasylivka district." Following the instructions of representatives of the aggressor state, he participated in the illegal detention of local residents, including participants in the resistance movement.
Additionally, the suspect exerted pressure on local entrepreneurs – checking trade licenses and demanding monetary rewards, threatening with "preventive conversations" at the "district police station."
In early July 2025, pretending to be an internally displaced person, he left for the territory controlled by Ukraine.
Thanks to the joint actions of prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region, and the Main Department of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region, the suspect was exposed and detained.
The man has been notified of suspicion of collaborationist activities (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
