Under the public prosecution of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 23-year-old native of the Luhansk region was found guilty of committing treason and obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
After the full-scale invasion, the citizen moved from Sievierodonetsk to Chernivtsi. Having established contact with a representative of the Russian special services, the man began to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine.
Initially, he was tasked with applying "graffiti" on buildings, monuments, and vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he was ordered to conduct photo and video documentation of administrative buildings of law enforcement agencies and parked vehicles nearby, as well as to document vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their further identification and arson.
After completing each task, the "executor" sent a report to the enemy.
For the work done, he received a monetary reward to a pre-created cryptocurrency wallet.
Prosecutors in court proved that last summer, while carrying out another task from the Russian curator, the accused set fire to a relay cabinet in the Chernivtsi region and burned a vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the act, he was detained by law enforcement officers.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
