Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have reported suspicion of official negligence against the director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the investigation, in 2022, the Department of Municipal Security purchased 6 specialized vehicles for the capital's rescuers at an inflated price, as well as additional equipment for them.

These actions caused damages to the territorial community of the capital amounting to nearly 11 million hryvnias.

The actions of the suspect have been classified under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely: improper performance of official duties due to a negligent attitude towards them, which resulted in severe consequences.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in Kyiv, with operational support from the National Police's Department of Internal Security.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
