Under the procedural guidance of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the Brovary district has been exposed and detained for committing intentional murder and attempting to take the lives of two people.

The investigation established that on September 15, 2025, in the village of Morozivka, a 60-year-old local resident had premeditated a crime against a local family. The man illegally acquired a grenade and attached it to the door of a container for collecting polyethylene packaging used by the family.

When the couple opened the container door, an explosion occurred. As a result of the detonation, the woman died on the spot, and her husband sustained serious bodily injuries.

The perpetrator was detained "in hot pursuit." His actions have been classified under:

• paragraph 5 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people),

• part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons).

The man has been informed of the suspicion against him. For his actions, he faces a penalty of life imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Brovary District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
