At the request of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court has taken into custody, without the right to bail, a suspect in state treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a 41-year-old resident of Izmail consciously sided with the enemy and acted against the foundations of national security of Ukraine.

In September 2025, he began seeking ways to cooperate with the Russian special services on his own. He established contact via Telegram and offered his "assistance" in exchange for easy money.

Understanding the potential consequences of his actions, the suspect collected and transmitted data about the location of military facilities, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the National Guard, as well as information about the presence and movement of military equipment in the Odesa region to enemy agents.

To increase the accuracy of strikes against Ukrainian defenders, the traitor sent screenshots from Google Maps with geographical coordinates, effectively directing the enemy to the positions of Ukrainian troops.

In addition, the investigation has established that the man attempted to expand channels of interaction with representatives of the aggressor state, looking for new willing individuals ready to cooperate with the enemy.

Operational support is provided by the internal security representation in the Odesa region of the 2nd Department of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
