He promised to "solve the issue" with VLK for $7,000: a lawyer was exposed in Dnipro

In Dnipro, a scheme for evading mobilization has been uncovered involving a lawyer who assisted conscripts in being removed from the register through the Military Medical Commission. For his "services," the suspect demanded 7 thousand US dollars.

According to the investigation, a man of conscription age, who was unfit for military service due to health reasons, sought legal assistance from the lawyer. Despite having medical grounds, he was repeatedly sent for additional examinations.

The suspect claimed to have connections in the military medical commission and could ensure the removal of the client from military registration for the agreed sum.

At the same time, he threatened that if the money was not paid, he would facilitate the immediate mobilization of the man.

The lawyer was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving 2.5 thousand US dollars.

According to operational information, the lawyer has processed more than one person through this scheme. Episodes and those involved are being established.

Under the procedural guidance of the Slobozhansky District Prosecutor's Office, he has been notified of suspicion of receiving unlawful benefits for influencing the decisions of officials, combined with extortion (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved for the man.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the SV of the Dnipro District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the region.

Note. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
