Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Western District Prosecutor's Office of Dnipro, two local residents have been notified of suspicion for organizing the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspects—a man and a woman—organized a "scheme" for the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border. For 13,000 US dollars, they promised to provide escort and "remove obstacles" for illegal crossing, including by disabling surveillance cameras during the crossing of the border strip to Romania through the territory of the Odesa region.
They were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving the specified amount from one of the conscripts.
During the conducted searches, mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, cash, and handwritten notes were seized.
The investigation is ongoing. Other individuals involved in the illegal activity and the number of conscripts that the suspects may have illegally transported across the state border of Ukraine are being identified.
Currently, they have been chosen preventive measures in the form of detention with the right to bail.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the police department No. 3 of the Dnipro District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with operational support from the Main Directorate of the State Migration Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
