Kharkiv woman for $ 25,000 promised a "path abroad" - she was detained

Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 21-year-old woman has been charged with organizing the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine, directing such actions, and facilitating their commission through instructions and the provision of means, for mercenary motives (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a resident of Kharkiv spread information among acquaintances about the possibility of "help" in fleeing the country for a monetary reward.

For 25 thousand US dollars, she offered conscripted individuals a way to reach the state border without hindrance, and then to Romania. The woman assured that this was not the first case, and for such transports, she usually employed special vehicles — ambulances, military transport, or service vehicles — to bypass checkpoints.

To carry out this particular scheme, the organizer involved a driver — a serviceman who had a military ID and could move freely within the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, he was unaware of the woman's criminal intentions.

The organizer personally controlled all stages: from meeting the participants and transferring the funds to moving through the checkpoint.

On the appointed day, the "client" got into the car provided by the driver and set off on the route from Kharkiv to Uzhhorod. Along the way, in the town of Valky, Kharkiv region, the organizer was waiting for them.

After receiving the agreed sum, law enforcement officers detained the woman at the crime scene.

At the request of the prosecution, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.

Law enforcement is checking other possible facts of the woman's involvement in the illegal departure of conscripted individuals abroad.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region. Operational support is provided by the 7th Department (serving the Kharkiv region) of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, and the Department of Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
