Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of the Kherson region, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the facts of committing war crimes (Part 1, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on the morning of October 6, 2025, the military of the Russian Federation shelled the villages of Stepanivka and Chornobayivka in the Kherson district with artillery.

In Stepanivka, a shell hit a residential building — rescuers recovered the body of a deceased woman from the rubble.

In Chornobayivka, five civilians were preliminarily reported injured, including a minor child. 

All the injured have been hospitalized, and they are receiving medical assistance.

Prosecutors, together with investigators, continue to document the war crimes committed by the military of the Russian Federation.
