They demanded 50 thousand US dollars of non-existent debt - a group of people will be tried in Kryvyi Rih

		Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, on October 23, 2025, an indictment was sent to court against four residents of Kryvyi Rih, accused of extortion committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy under martial law (Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in 2024, one of the accused, knowing the victim and being aware that he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities, involved three acquaintances to extort 50 thousand US dollars from him allegedly for non-existent debt obligations.
At the organizer's direction, her accomplices met with the victim, threatened him, and inflicted over 10 blows to various parts of his body, demanding the transfer of funds. Subsequently, continuing the pressure, they damaged his vehicle.
The victim reported to the police.
As a result of searches, law enforcement seized mobile phones, vehicles, traumatic weapons, cash in various currencies, and documents of evidential value.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
