According to the investigation, on December 17, 2025, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region, using aerial bombs.

As a result of the shelling, two apartment buildings suffered significant damage, private houses and high-rise buildings located near the impact sites were damaged, as well as the production facilities of one of the infrastructure objects.

One of the aerial bombs hit near an educational institution in the town of Kushuhum. The educational process was taking place in a shelter.

In total, at least 30 people are known to have been injured, including five children.

Inspections of the sites of the incidents with the participation of the leadership of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office are ongoing. Information regarding the victims is being clarified.

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, an investigation has been initiated in a criminal proceeding regarding the commission of a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.
