Law enforcement officers prevented an attempt to commit a terrorist act in Odesa near the administrative building of the regional TCC and SP. During the special operation, a resident of the Volyn region was detained.

According to the investigation, at the beginning of July, the woman arrived in Odesa to carry out sabotage-terrorist activities. It has been established that she acted on the instructions of a representative of the Russian special services.

After receiving instructions, the woman retrieved a backpack with a homemade explosive device from a hiding place and attempted to activate it near the Odesa regional TCC and SP. She was detained at the moment of the activation attempt.

During the detention, a controlled explosion of the explosive device occurred at a safe distance. There are no casualties.

Currently, urgent investigative actions are ongoing. Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, a notification of suspicion is being prepared under part 3 of article 15 and part 2 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempt to commit a terrorist act).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the SBU in the Odesa region.

Note: according to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
