The head of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion against a deputy of the Khust City Council, who organized illegal trade in electronic cigarettes and liquids for them at home.

According to the investigation, the suspect set up an illegal business in his yard in a trading pavilion. He ordered the excise-free goods through unknown Telegram channels and then sold them to visitors of the kiosk.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers seized over a thousand units of liquids for electronic cigarettes and dozens of electronic cigarettes – all without excise tax labels.

The deputy is charged with illegal acquisition and storage for the purpose of sale and sale of illegally manufactured excise goods (Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Transcarpathian region under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
