Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense, a private notary from the Kharkiv City Notarial District has been exposed for abusing his powers during the state registration of real estate intended for defense purposes.

From December 2023 to March 2024, the notary illegally re-registered the ownership rights of several groups of non-residential premises belonging to a state defense enterprise, the alienation of which was not agreed upon by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the established manner. For this purpose, knowingly forged documents with false information were used. 

The total value of the illegally alienated property exceeds 8.3 million UAH.

The notary has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - abuse of powers by a person providing public services.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Unit of the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, with operational support from the Criminal Police Unit of the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
