Prosecutors of the Ivano-Frankivsk District Prosecutor's Office in Lviv proved in court the guilt of a 24-year-old native of Transcarpathia, who, posing as a representative of the charity fund of Iryna Fedyshyn, embezzled funds from military personnel. The imposed punishment is 3 years of imprisonment.
It was established that in April of this year, the woman implemented a fraudulent scheme to embezzle funds from the military. She followed the fund's page on "TikTok" and searched for military personnel in the comments who needed vehicles to carry out combat missions. After seeing a comment from one of the military, she contacted him, assured him that she could provide a vehicle for free, but that he needed to pay for the fuel for transportation to the deployment location.
The military transferred 4,000 hryvnias to the convicted woman's bank card supposedly for gasoline. In a similar manner, she deceived two more servicemen, totaling 12,300 UAH. The woman did not provide any vehicles and used the funds for her own needs.
The scheme was uncovered after one of the deceived servicemen contacted the fund directly.
The woman's actions were classified under Part 2, 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud). She will remain in custody until the verdict takes legal effect.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are being carried out by the National Police officers in the Lviv region.
The verdict takes legal effect after the expiration of the appeal period.
