In Europe, a Russian agent has been exposed to organize a terrorist attack near the police department in Kharkiv. At the request of the prosecutor, he was taken into custody

Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 16-year-old boy has been charged with aiding in the commission of a terrorist act by prior agreement with a group of individuals (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect, a resident of Kharkiv, left for the European Union in the fall of 2024 and, seeking "easy money" in Telegram channels, came under the radar of Russian special services, which recruited him.

After that, he sought potential executors for contract terrorist acts on the territory of Ukraine and passed them on to Russian curators for instruction.

One of the individuals he recruited was a 15-year-old girl from Kharkiv, who carried out an explosion near the police department in the Slobidsky district in December 2024. She acted on enemy instructions: purchased a phone, set up video surveillance, hid an explosive device in a box, and placed it near the police department. A few hours later, an explosion occurred. Law enforcement uncovered the girl. The court proceedings against the accused are ongoing.

The 16-year-old boy was detained at the western border of our state, where he was brought by Polish law enforcement in connection with his forced return to the territory of Ukraine.

The suspect has been placed in custody as a preventive measure. Currently, law enforcement is checking the Kharkiv resident's involvement in other terrorist acts.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support are being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
