The head of the Western District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Dnipro submitted an indictment to the court on October 25 against a local resident accused of committing violent sexual acts against a minor (Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in February 2025, a man, while in a rehabilitation center, called a girl who was passing by to his room. Left alone with the 7-year-old child, the man took advantage of her helpless state and committed sexual violence.

The victim's mother began searching for her child and saw her in the room with the man. The mother started looking for her child and found her in the room with her underwear down. This was noticed by the victim's mother, who reported it to the police.

Currently, the accused is in custody without a defined bail amount.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the investigative unit of the Police Department No. 3 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
