Prosecutors of the Dnipro Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region have submitted an indictment to the court against the head of the housing and utilities management of the city of Dnipro, due to whose negligence the state suffered losses of 9.7 million hryvnias.

The official is accused of negligent performance of duties committed under martial law (part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In particular, due to improper performance of official duties, he failed to ensure proper control over the effective use of budget funds. As a result, army beds were purchased at significantly inflated prices amounting to nearly 10 million UAH.

At the request of the prosecutors, the official has been taken into custody with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 9.6 million hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigations located in the city of Poltava, with operational support from the SBU Office in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
