Prosecutors of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against the former head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in the Ternopil region, who provided false information in the annual declarations for 2022 and 2023, as a person authorized to perform state or local government functions (part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The false information amounts to over 23.4 million hryvnias.

According to the results of the NACP's inspection, the former official's declaration for 2022 contained false information exceeding 13.7 million UAH, while the declaration for 2023 contained false information exceeding 9.7 million UAH.

The accused did not disclose information about two residential houses near Ternopil with areas of 290.6 sq m and 64.6 sq m, owned by his mother, but in which he actually lived with his family, as well as the land plots on which these properties are located.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Lviv.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
