Prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General have sent an indictment to the court regarding two former heads of municipal enterprises and the head of a private company, who embezzled nearly 9 million UAH during the reconstruction of a tram line in Kyiv.

They are charged under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The deputy general director of one of the municipal enterprises in Kyiv and the head of a structural unit entered into a contract with a private company for the development of project documentation for the reconstruction of the tram line in the Desnyanskyi district of the capital. Subsequently, nearly 9 million UAH was transferred to the company's accounts. However, the municipal enterprise had already conducted a procurement for the development of project documentation for the mentioned object. In addition, the private company provided project documentation with forged signatures of experts and specialists in fulfillment of the contract conditions.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Economic Security.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
