The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office has approved and sent to court an indictment against the director of one of the communal enterprises of the Hlukhiv City Council, due to whose negligence the community suffered losses amounting to 8.2 million UAH.

According to the investigation, in 2023, a contract was concluded between the mentioned communal enterprise and a limited liability company for the reconstruction of the water pipeline in the city of Hlukhiv. Failing to properly fulfill his duties, the accused did not conduct a quality price monitoring of the materials, and at the stage of signing the contract, he did not verify the commercial proposals for their procurement. As a result, the pipe was purchased at an inflated price of 8.2 million UAH.

The actions of the accused have been qualified as improper performance of official duties due to a negligent attitude towards them, which caused severe consequences for the interests of the territorial community (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation was completed by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Sumy region with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department in the Sumy region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
