Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Kyiv has been notified of suspicion of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). At the request of the prosecutors, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.

According to the investigation, in June 2024, a local entrepreneur, in order to assist the occupying army, voluntarily made contact with an FSB officer from the Russian Federation. During their communication on "Telegram," the man transmitted military-related data, including the coordinates of the area, informing his curator about the movements and locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the sorties of combat aviation in the Kyiv and Poltava regions. Additionally, he reported on the operation of air defense in one of the districts of Kyiv.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment of 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
