Explanation of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the NABU detectives conducted
09.10.2025
In connection with numerous inquiries from media representatives, we provide additional information regarding the searches conducted today at the homes of two prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Based on a ruling from the High Anti-Corruption Court, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine carried out searches at the homes of two prosecutors from the OGP as part of a pre-trial investigation into one of the criminal proceedings.
Regarding the first prosecutor.
He has no procedural status in the criminal proceedings being investigated by NABU and SAP. Nevertheless, based on a court ruling, searches were conducted at his place of residence and work. No physical evidence was found during the searches that could indicate his involvement in any criminal offense. At the same time, a mobile phone was seized from the prosecutor.
It is worth noting that this prosecutor was part of the group of prosecutors overseeing the case against the head of one of the interregional offices of NABU detectives, R. Magamedrasulov, for aiding the aggressor state (part 1 of Article 14, part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Such actions may indicate possible attempts to discredit the prosecutors overseeing the mentioned proceedings and to create a corresponding information background that raises reasonable doubts about the objectivity of certain NABU detectives.
It is evident that conducting a search at the prosecutor who worked on the case of a NABU official and seizing his mobile phone carries risks of accessing information that may be important evidence in this proceeding.
Thus, this raises questions about the impartiality and true motives behind such procedural actions.
Regarding the second prosecutor.
According to the information presented in the court ruling, he allegedly may be involved in mediating the transfer of 3.5 million USD to judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court and officials of SAP to resolve the issue of closing the criminal proceedings.
At the same time, according to available information, this prosecutor had no relation to the investigation of the criminal proceedings that were supposedly to be closed for an unlawful benefit. He also has never been part of the group of prosecutors overseeing the proceedings against a high-ranking NABU official.
The Office of the Prosecutor General fully supports the investigation being conducted by NABU and SAP to ensure its legality, objectivity, and transparency, as well as to prevent any distortions by interested parties.
We appeal to journalists who have incorrectly reported the information to correct it: the OGP prosecutor is suspected of mediating the bribery of 3.5 million USD to judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court. He himself could not demand or close the case, as he is not the procedural leader in it.
We urge media representatives to use only verified information and refrain from spreading unconfirmed data.
