Prosecutors of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office proved the guilt of a local resident in state treason in court. He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in the spring of 2024, the man attracted the enemy's attention with his anti-Ukrainian statements on social media. Subsequently, representatives of the FSB recruited him to gather intelligence on the locations of units and military equipment of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs.

The agent transmitted coordinates and other information via messenger, after which he deleted the correspondence for secrecy. In particular, at the request of his handler, he reported on the consequences of the combined strike by the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia in March 2024. At that time, the suspect collected and forwarded photo and video materials of the damage to the Dnipro HPP and other facilities.

In the summer of 2024, the SBU counterintelligence detained him at his place of residence. During the search, a mobile phone was seized containing evidence of cooperation with Russian special services, as well as photo and video materials of strategic facilities.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by employees of the SBU departments in the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
