Prosecutors have sent a case to the Extramonder 211 Ponton-brigade, which covered the bullying of the soldiers

Prosecutors have submitted an indictment to the court against the former commander of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He is accused of inaction by military authority committed in conditions of martial law or in a combat situation (part 4 of Article 426 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the former commander did not respond to facts of inhumane treatment and torture of the servicemen under his command. Knowing that a subordinate platoon commander had exceeded his authority and abused the soldiers under his command from February to July 2024, the accused did not initiate the issue of holding the officer accountable.

He is currently in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
