Prosecutors of the Donetsk Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the sphere of defense of the Eastern region have sent an indictment to the court regarding the commander of a battalion of one of the military units and his subordinate.

The prosecution has charged that the battalion commander, during the years 2023-2024, included false information in official documents about the presence of a serviceman in the combat zone in Donetsk.

Based on forged documents, she received additional monetary compensation, but was actually absent from her place of duty.

The total amount of illegal payments exceeded 1.7 million hryvnias.

The battalion commander is accused of abuse of power, forgery of documents, aiding in evasion from military service, and inaction of military authorities that caused severe consequences in a state of martial law (part 2 of Article 364, part 1 of Article 366, part 4 of Article 426, part 5 of Article 27, part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). His subordinate is charged with embezzlement of funds in large amounts during martial law and evasion from service (part 4 of Article 191, part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings were carried out by the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigations located in the city of Kramatorsk.
