The Prosecutor's Office of Zaporozhye protected the architectural monuments

In Zaporizhzhia, the owner of architectural monuments of local significance, including the "Central Choral Synagogue" and the Income House of H.K. Bilenkyi with a total area of 542 sq.m., was evading the signing of protection agreements for the buildings.

In 2023, the Zaporizhzhia District Administrative Court obliged the owner to sign protection agreements. Such an agreement is mandatory: it requires the owner to maintain the building in proper condition, carry out restoration, and arrange the territory. The document must be concluded within a month after acquiring ownership or use rights.

Ignoring the imposed obligation, the man evaded signing the necessary documents.

In the summer of 2025, the prosecutor's office intervened in the case: the owner was informed of the suspicion of intentional non-compliance with court decisions (part 1 of Article 382 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). An indictment was sent to the court.

On November 4, 2025, the owner signed protection agreements for both objects with the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.
