Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General, together with SBU employees under the operational support of the military counterintelligence of the SBU, uncovered two brothers who, thanks to connections in the Main Military Clinical Hospital, established a mechanism for transferring military personnel from combat units to rear units.

The prosecutors informed them of the suspicion of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and abusing influence (Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspects were looking for "clients" to whom, for an unlawful benefit, they provided the arrangement of fictitious medical documentation and the establishment of false diagnoses regarding existing illnesses. This provided grounds for military personnel to subsequently transfer from combat units to rear units. Such "services" cost 15 thousand US dollars.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspects while they were receiving part of the unlawful benefit. Currently, the issue of choosing preventive measures in the form of detention is being resolved.

Pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to identify all individuals involved in the commission of the specified crime.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
