The prosecutor's office returned 53 hectares of protected lands of Karmelyukovo Podillia to the state
01.01.2026
Prosecutors of Vinnytsia region returned 53 hectares of land from the natural reserve fund of Ukraine to the state.
This concerns a plot located within the territory of the National Natural Park "Karmeliukove Podillia." It was established by a Presidential Decree in 2009 with the aim of preserving, reproducing, and rationally using the unique natural and historical-cultural complexes of Southern Podillia. The lands have significant environmental, scientific, historical-cultural, aesthetic, recreational, and health-related importance.
It has been established that back in the 1990s, the land plot was improperly classified as land for industry, transport, communication, energy, and defense without proper legal grounds.
Taking advantage of the unclear legal status of the plot, in 2021, the Chechelnyk Village Council registered the right of communal ownership of the land, resulting in the land being unlawfully removed from state ownership.
Prosecutors filed a corresponding lawsuit in court. The court supported the prosecutors' position and ruled to remove obstacles for the owner — the state represented by the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration — in the use and disposal of the land plot within the territory of the National Natural Park "Karmeliukove Podillia."
The land has been returned to state ownership.
It is worth noting that in 2025, following lawsuits from the prosecutors of Vinnytsia, a number of land plots from the "Karmeliukove Podillia" park have already been returned to the state. In particular, in July, 7 hectares of land in the territory of the Olhopil community were returned to the state, and another 14 hectares of land in the Chechelnyk community of the Haisyn district were returned by the prosecutor in January 2025.
