Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations have detained and notified the former deputy director of the Central Forest Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" of suspicion.

During the pre-trial investigation, data was obtained regarding the facts of illegal enrichment by the official and the declaration of false information by him. To conceal illegally obtained income, he did not indicate in his declaration for the years 2023-2024 the property that was owned by him and his wife.

According to the conclusion of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP), the suspect acquired unjustified assets amounting to over 13 million hryvnias and intentionally submitted knowingly false information in the declaration for 2023, which differs from the accurate data by 11.7 million hryvnias, and for 2024 by 14.3 million hryvnias, respectively.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, a search was conducted at his residence. The former official has been detained and notified of suspicion, and a motion has been submitted for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of bail in the amount of 45 million hryvnias.

His actions have been qualified as illegal enrichment and declaration of false information (Article 368-5, Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the fourth investigative department (located in the city of Vinnytsia) of the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigations, based in the city of Khmelnytskyi, with operational support from operatives of the same office.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
