Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have notified a civil servant from one of the Departments of the Kyiv City State Administration of suspicion of official negligence. She has currently been suspended from her position. The actions of the suspect have been qualified under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — improper performance of her official duties due to a negligent attitude towards them, which caused severe consequences for state interests.

It has been established that the suspect, being responsible for procurement, did not take real measures to study the market prices for goods. Due to her improper performance of duties, vehicles for rescuers in Kyiv were purchased at inflated prices, resulting in losses of nearly 11 million hryvnias. 

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of two to five years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.

We remind you that earlier a suspicion of official negligence during the procurement of special vehicles for rescuers was reported to the director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration. 

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in Kyiv, with operational support from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
