Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, an indictment has been sent to court against the acting director of the Bukovynian Research Station of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine for the embezzlement of property through the abuse of office, in particularly large amounts (part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that in 2023, the official sold nearly 2000 tons of soybeans to a private enterprise at undervalued prices, causing losses of over 5.1 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Chernivtsi region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
