More than 3 million UAH of damages for the purchase of shelter for children - Dnipro prosecutors reported suspicion
03.07.2025
Prosecutors have notified the former head of one of the territorial communities in the Pavlohrad district of suspicion for abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in July 2023, the suspect entered into a contract with a company for the purchase of two modular shelters to be placed on the territory of a kindergarten and a gymnasium in the Pavlohrad district.
These structures were supposed to provide protection for children and community residents during air alerts and shelling.
According to technical specifications, the shelters were to be underground, reinforced with concrete structures, and capable of accommodating up to 100 people.
According to the conclusions of the expert examinations, the purchased structures do not meet the requirements of state standards and lack the necessary protective properties.
Despite this, the official signed acceptance-transfer acts and unjustifiably transferred budget funds to the company's account.
As a result of the illegal actions of the suspect, the local budget suffered losses of over 3 million UAH.
This is money that was supposed to guarantee the safety of children but was actually spent on unsuitable shelters.
Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Dnipro District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the region, under the procedural guidance of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Dnipro.
