Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office have submitted an indictment to the court against the former acting head of the KP "Chernivtsi Trolleybus Management" for abuse of office (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the official entered into a contract with the energy supplier without a fixed price, which allowed the company to arbitrarily increase tariffs monthly without additional agreements. As a result of these actions, the budget of Chernivtsi lost over 1 million UAH in 2019 for the payment of electricity for the city's electric transport.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Chernivtsi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
