The Prosecutor General's Office defended the Supreme Court punishment of enemy information

The Cassation Criminal Court as part of the Supreme Court agreed with the arguments of the prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General and confirmed the sentence of a resident of Mykolaiv, who was convicted for disseminating information about the location of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 114-2, Parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The convicted individual was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment.

Prosecutors in courts of all instances proved that the resident of Mykolaiv, in June–July 2022, disseminated information about the movement of Ukrainian military forces and the location of military equipment in the city and region through a Telegram channel. On the same information resource, he posted messages and statements, including offensive ones, regarding Ukraine, Ukrainians, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which contained justifications and recognition of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as legitimate.

Currently, the convicted individual is serving the sentence imposed by the court.
