The deception of Ternopil's property for almost 6 million UAH was deceived - the lawyer and his accomplice are suspected

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office, a lawyer and his accomplice have been notified of suspicion for seizing someone else's property through deception (fraud) in particularly large amounts, for acquiring rights to property through deception (fraud), committed repeatedly, by prior conspiracy of a group of individuals, and for an attempted completed seizure of someone else's property through deception (fraud), committed repeatedly, by prior conspiracy of a group of individuals, under conditions of martial law (parts 3, 4 of Article 190, part 2 of Article 15, part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2017, a local entrepreneur approached the managing lawyer's association for legal assistance in purchasing a premises with a total area of 453.5 sq. m. in Ternopil. The lawyer promised to carry out the property acquisition procedure for 4.4 million UAH but embezzled the funds.
In 2022, together with an accomplice, the lawyer suggested to an acquaintance to transfer ownership of an apartment that was in his possession to his accomplice as payment for a future cottage. The man lost ownership of the apartment, and the cottage was never built. The amount of damages exceeded 1.3 million UAH.
That same year, the lawyer "helped" a Ternopil resident by providing documents for signing instead of the documents for the pledge of a vehicle, which were documents for the transfer of the car to his accomplice. The woman lost her car. The amount of damages amounted to nearly 350 thousand UAH.
The suspects have been detained.
The lawyer has been chosen a preventive measure – detention with the possibility of posting bail of over 1 million 816 thousand UAH, and his accomplice – detention with bail of over 760 thousand UAH.
The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Ternopil region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
