Prosecutors of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against one of the village heads of the Lutsk district for the fact of illegal enrichment, declaring false information, and forgery of official documents (Art. 368-5, parts 1, 2 of Art. 366-2, parts 1, 3 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The chief specialist of the accounting and reporting department of the village council will also stand trial, accused of aiding in illegal enrichment and forgery of official documents (part 5 of Art. 27, Art. 368-5, part 3 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the village council head, with the assistance of a subordinate, acquired 36 assets in the form of real estate and vehicles worth over 55 million hryvnias from February 2020 to August 2024. Some of these were registered in the names of close relatives of the official.
The value of these assets exceeds their legal income by 36.6 million hryvnias.
In addition, the official, being a subject of declaration, did not indicate information about the acquired assets, thus intentionally provided knowingly false information in the annual electronic declarations of a person authorized to perform state or local government functions for the years 2020 - 2024.
To conceal the crime, he, together with the chief specialist of the department, forged 132 official documents, based on which he managed the acquired assets, signing them on behalf of the registered entrepreneurs, his wife and daughter.
Pre-trial investigation: The Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Volyn region with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
