Prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office have completed the investigation and sent an indictment to the court regarding the former chairman of the board of a private gas distribution company – the "Blue Fuel" company. According to the investigation, he organized the illegal consumption of state gas, despite the fact that the company had officially ceased supply due to debts.

In January 2023, due to the existing debt for the received natural gas, the state enterprise excluded the company under its control from the balancing group and stopped supplying the resource. After that, the enterprise lost the right to distribute gas to consumers and third parties.

During February to June of the same year, the official did not conclude new supply contracts, but organized further consumption of natural gas. As a result of these actions, unauthorized extraction of more than 10 million cubic meters of gas from the gas distribution system occurred, causing losses to the state of over 251 million UAH.

His actions have been qualified as abuse of power by an official of a legal entity of private law, which caused severe consequences to state interests (part 2 of Article 364-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Cherkasy region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
