Illegal registration of real estate in Vinnitsa - on abuse of powers exposed the state registrar  

The state registrar of one of the village councils in the Mohyliv-Podilskyi district has been notified of suspicion of abuse of power for the purpose of obtaining illegal benefits (part 3 of Article 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect unlawfully registered ownership rights to a non-residential premises with an area of 687 sq. m in Vinnytsia in 2020.

At the same time, she did not verify the validity of the purchase and sale transaction of the object provided by a citizen. It turned out that the company that allegedly sold him the property does not exist. The suspect also did not inquire with the Vinnytsia City Council about the status of the property on its territory.

As a result of the unlawful actions, the co-owners of the housing construction cooperative suffered damages amounting to 3.3 million hryvnias.

Under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia District Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Vinnytsia District Department of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
