Under the procedural guidance of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, the deputy head of the correctional colony has been notified of suspicion of abuse of office for the purpose of obtaining illegal benefits, which caused serious consequences (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

At the beginning of 2025, the official unjustifiably granted permission to an entrepreneur for the processing of two plots of land with a total area of 50 hectares, which are in the permanent use of the institution. 

The entrepreneur planted sunflowers in the field and planned to share the profits from the harvest with the official.

The unauthorized occupation of the institution's land and the sowing of agricultural crops caused damage amounting to over half a million hryvnias.

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect and their suspension from office is being resolved.

A range of investigative actions is being conducted to establish all circumstances and involved persons.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Khmelnytskyi region.

We remind you that in December 2025, the acting director of the State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine was notified of suspicion for receiving 600 thousand hryvnias in illegal benefits. He favored a certain business entity in signing a contract for the performance of work by convicts held in the state institution. This led to an actual overestimation of the cost of goods supplied to the state sector.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
