In a specially equipped facility in the Kharkiv region, prosecutors of the Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office, together with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine, seized over 2.5 million counterfeit excise tax stamps with holographic security features, which, by external signs, resemble official ones and have a high level of protection.

Within the framework of a criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, three individuals were detained directly during the commission of illegal activities, among them – two foreigners. Industrial equipment, raw materials, finished products, and other evidence confirming the facts of illegal production of excise goods were also seized.

Investigative actions are ongoing to identify other participants in the illegal scheme, its customers, and channels for distributing counterfeit products.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
