Corruption schemes related to mobilization were exposed in Ternopil Oblast: nine persons were notified of suspicion

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office, five schemes of illegal enrichment related to mobilization processes have been uncovered. Among the revealed facts are unjustified reservations of military personnel, receipt of funds for fictitious training, forged medical certificates, removal from military registration, and the organization of illegal transportation of men across the state border.

In total, nine individuals have been notified of suspicion.

According to the investigation, two residents of the Chernivtsi region organized the illegal transportation of a resident of Ternopil across the state border of Ukraine for 11 thousand euros.

Two residents of Ternopil promised their acquaintances, for a monetary reward, to influence authorized military officials so that they would not transfer servicemen from rear units to the combat zone. For this, they demanded 12 thousand and 2.5 thousand US dollars.

Another resident of the region received 1.5 thousand US dollars for allegedly influencing officials of the territorial recruitment center regarding the removal of a military personnel from the wanted list.

The acting director of one of the vocational colleges, in collusion with two individuals, received an unlawful benefit of 700 US dollars for enrolling a military personnel in training.

Two heads of departments at a district hospital were also uncovered, who received an unlawful benefit (25 thousand UAH) for issuing fictitious medical certificates. During searches at one of the doctors' homes, medical documentation for 37 patients was found. Law enforcement seized 19,827 US dollars, 7,365 euros, 900 zlotys, 60 British pounds, and 58,500 UAH from him.

In total, during 20 conducted searches, 173 thousand UAH, 35,000 US dollars, 15,800 euros, 900 zlotys, and 60 British pounds were discovered and seized.

The investigation is ongoing in criminal proceedings under Articles 368 part 3, 369-2 part 3, and 332 part 3.

The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region, with operational support from the staff of the UCR, the DWB, and the SBU in the region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
